The Korean-Canadian Literary Forum-21 is a non-profit organization incorporated under the Federal Government of Canada. The objectives of the organization are:
l. to promote multicultural understanding and appreciation by organizing regular literary activities for its members;
2. to publish a yearly anthology of essays, short stories and poems by its member and non-members; to endeavor to exchange literary views and works with the larger Canadian literary societies;
3. to understand their view points, and to maintain a close relationship with them;
4. to promote cultural education among the youth of Canada by inviting high-school and post-secondary school students to participate in the corporation's literary projects;
5. to promote mutual friendship and mutual help among the members.
The Korean-Canadian Literary Forum-21 has the Board of Directors with Mr. Dae-Tong Huh, member of the Korean PEN-Club, as Chair of the Board. It has more than thirty regular and honorary members who are professional and non-professional writers, poets, and essayists. The Literary Forum's activities are mainly based in Toronto, Ontario.
The KCLF has been performing the role of the unique literary association, which publishes a multilingual almanac in English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, Japanese, etc., attracting hundreds of Torontonians to its meetings, poetry readings and seminars.
The specific feature of poetry readings and seminars is that authors read their poems and essays in their own mother tongues. The activities of the KCLF-21 has been extensively reflected in the Canadian news media (English-language, as well as Korean-language), such as The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, National Post, The Korea Daily, The Korean Central Daily, The Korean News, CBC Radio, CFMT, City TV, AL TV, etc. Mr. Dae-Tong Huh gave a series of interviews to different radio channels.
